LICENSING OF UMRAH CHARTER OPERATORS 

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) enabling Act 2006 Section 4 – (i) sub-section (a) mandates NAHCON to license, regulate, supervise and perform oversight functions over organizations engaged in providing transportation and other services related to the performance of Hajj and Umrah to and from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

2.      The Commission in pursuance of its mandate shall, with effect from this year, license all companies and air carriers wishing to provide Umrah/Hajj charter flights.

3.      Consequently, it is mandatory for the charter operators intending to airlift Nigerian Pilgrims for Umrah/Hajj to obtain NAHCON Umrah/Hajj license. The following categories of charter operators are required to apply to NAHCON for the license.

i)                   Tour/Charter Operators with valid ATOL/AOP; and

ii)                 Domestic airlines that are not operating schedule flights to Saudi Arabia.

4.      Application Form can be obtained at the office of the Secretary to the Commission of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, No. 1 First Avenue, Off Ahmadu Bello Way, Central Business District, Sokoto House, Abuja.

5.      Successful applicants will pay appropriate licensing fee.

6.      Please note that only licensed charter operators/airlines will be allowed to operate Umrah/Hajj flights
